I cannot really remember exactly when I became aware of “The Creative Family Historian”. However, I do remember how I became aware of it. It was through the Queensland Family History Society and one of their postings via Facebook.
Website.
I checked out “The Creative Family Historian” website and liked what I saw so I subscribed. The website was well set out and easy to navigate. I also decided to subscribe to the newsletter.

The newsletters I received were very informative and gave credence to what I had always been doing in my research.
Since I had commenced writing ancestor stories, the information within the newsletters helped and at times reinforced what I was doing with my own writings.
All Change.
Since being part of Prudence’s journey when I joined “The Creative Family Historian”, I have completed the “Writing Family History Stories with ChatGPT” course which currently costs $47 Australian. Prudence is the owner of the site.

I have also downloaded a few “free” templates that have been on offer. I had envisaged writing about “The Creative Family Historian” much earlier but life got in the way and other subjects came up for me to write about. I had prepared the outline and then the site changed so this is being written “off the cuff” otherwise I wouldn’t get it done within my schedule.
New Website.

The new website is striking. It is clearly set out and easy to negotiate. The landing page contains the site name and what it is all about.
The menus follow Home, Resources, Courses, Shop by App, Shop by Project and Template Store. All the menus except Home have drop-down choices. I will let you explore these at your leisure.
The website address is: https://www.creativefamilyhistorian.com
Home.
As you scroll further down the main home page, you will stumble across the most popular blog posts – available for you to read. I would suggest “View all articles”, so you can see what is currently available. There are different categories to explore from Create, Plan to Writing.
Again, the page is well set out and easy to follow. Also, check out “Your Daily Dose of Inspiration.” Posts usually occur every second Tuesday so the best thing to do is check them out and go from there.
Other.
There are other locations where you can check out information relating to “The Creative Family Historian” on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TicTok and Pinterest. Oh, and don’t forget to read and understand the Privacy Policy.

Newsletter.
I received emails quite regularly relating to the Template Club and Weekly Updates (as it was known) before the end of March 2024. This format will become more of a newsletter style. What I have found with the new style, is more in line with Storytelling. The main story framework has five steps: Plan, Organise, Write, Refine and Create. Within the new newsletter, you will receive tips, ideas, challenges, product spotlights etc. Please note this is all new so expect some teething issues to begin with – nothing ever seems to run smoothly as I am sure you all know.
UPDATE: Mid-May 2024, You can now join the TCFH Accountability Club via a monthly subscription which currently costs $37 Australian.
Takeaway.
Get writing – you are not here forever.
Do the writing as you research. It is easier than you think.
Prudence provides so much information to assist you with your journey of recording your ancestors. The templates are a must. The courses are useful if you have no idea where to start.
So what’s stopping you…? I could tell you but you probably wouldn’t like what I would say. Head over to “The Creative Family Historian” and hit your start button. You will not be disappointed.
Explore and Discover.
