I began handwriting this piece on the last day of an interesting year – 2024. It appears to me that most (though maybe not a majority) seem to think, “What a horrible year!”

I think so many people have found themselves caught up in the hype. Who created it? Who knows? There are so many factors, especially the FAKE. I know I could go on and on but there is no purpose in any of that stuff. I would be just adding to the hype.
It seems that no one wishes to take any responsibility for anything. This includes ME and YOU. Change is happening whether you’d like it or not.
Change.
Family history-wise, you would have (or maybe not) noticed that in mid-2024, I took a break from my weekly postings. I have commenced posting again but usually roughly about twice a month. I think it has been roughly every two weeks. During the past six months, two major influences on my writing have closed down. These were the inspiration, or parts thereof, in assisting me in my writing, in particular my own family history stories.
Please remember, if you do NOT write your ancestor stories and even your own, once you leave this planet so do those stories and they are gone forever. We need to all CHANGE. You know the rest without me having to spell it out.

Projects.
I have a few projects that I am currently working on, all are family history related. You may have been aware of my social media attempts. This is very time-consuming. However, it does appear to be a good way to get visual representation across to those who probably don’t enjoy reading.

My last writing gives hints on things to come. Probably like most, I’m not one for being on camera. Being behind the camera is more my style. But hey, things change. I will be writing about my adventures north to my hometown/area. With my findings then from this, a social media project is/will be developed.
Another project started is my story. All the nuts and bolts – some published to the world and others just for family. Some will like what’s been written and others will not. I always say, this is MY story and others will have their own version. Everyone knows, even if they don’t believe it – there are always other versions. It’s like, an event happens and there are 10 witnesses. There will be 10 versions coming out of just this one event. Some bits will be the same, and some will be slightly different. It is just how it is. We are not all the same.

Challenge.
I set out a challenge to you all. When it comes to family history research, write your story – no one else will do it. A few sentences each day or a week to create a booklet or it may even become a fully published book. Oh, it does not need to be perfect. Nothing in this world is perfect.

However some do think so, but really – look in the mirror for once in one’s life and see the reflection.
On a side note – tell that reflection that YOU love what you see.
Do this every time you see the reflection, even if it’s in a shop window.
And one final thing, look past your reflection and what do you see?
Now, hop out…
Explore and Discover.
