Memory Tardis.

Those of you who are aware of the TARDIS, would know the connection to the TV series Dr Who. From the mid-1960s, I have always had a connection with this TV series. Recently, I have been on a memory trip. As my story will show, TV shows/series’ can play an important role within all our lives.

Links.

As you may be aware, I am writing my own story.

In my writings in particular, “Those Were the Days”, I mentioned ideas on what to write about in our stories. Check-out this link for those ideas. https://ancestorfamily.com/2025/04/18/those-were-the-days/

When writing about television, memories will appear just like what occurred for me when I went in to the “Monarchetype Email.” I do need to thank a YouTube channel that gave me these memory triggers. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRggArq9uw-d2e8Yg0FG3mA

Connections.

There are many TV connections that trigger my story. These commence in the 1960s. When I think about all the possibilities, I remember things that I watched after school, both primary and secondary. To get the brain started with pulling up these memories, create a list. I am fairly positive you will end up with an interesting assortment. Please do not forget all the cartoons!

Make A List.

Once you have covered your school year’s viewing, begin to think about your late teens then your early adulthood – as in your early 20s. Follow the same process making a list and hopefully memories will occur.

If you are not sure when a particular series was televised i.e. the year, just add it to your list. You can then search Google to see when it first aired. Of course, be aware of which country you were living in when you do this. What memories are triggered? Were they happy? Were they sad? What other interesting facts surfaced? Remember, write them down in bullet point format for starters. You can expand on these later.

Context.

I have found this an interesting way to add context to my story. Most of our brains are full of memories.

We just need some jogging to occur so as we can create substance to our story. Besides using TV, you can also do the same for music, movies, and many other types of events. All this does is give you a starting point. From this starting point your life story becomes colourful.

Into The Future.

Think about who may be reading your story in say 10, 20 or even 50-plus years from now. At the time you write the piece of your story it may not appear to be of any interest. Hence, you have to travel into the future to understand what you write to day will show your future readers what life was like way back then.

Ponder on this. You can create some amazing content that may never surface in any other printed format.
